Hotel Alexander, Bansko ***

The Hotel Alexander is a new and modern accommodation located just on the outskirts of Bansko. It receives favourable reviews from ski holiday-makers largely because it’s at the cheaper end of most people’s budgets whilst being more mid-range in quality of accommodation. Because it’s new it hasn’t been reviewed too often on some of the major web-sites such as Trip Advisor so it appears further down the rankings than perhaps it should.

Here’s our summary of what our guests have to say about the hotel:

The general facilities of the hotel are good, including a heated swimming pool (although this is in a different building across the car park), and free Wifi throughout the hotel. All of the rooms are spacious, warm, modern, and regularly cleaned. They are equipped with a TV with over 100 channels although there are only a handful of English-speaking television channels with the majority being Bulgarian or European.

As the hotel is a decent walk from Bansko resort centre (about 1.5 miles) there is a free shuttle bus which runs regularly and only takes 5 minutes, and if you prefer to travel with a bit of privacy then a taxi is only 4 Euro. Many guests tend to head into Bansko in the evening for a meal in one of the many cheap decent restaurants. The breakfasts at the Hotel Alexander are very good,
